About Jon

I'm a professional tutor and former Digital Learning Lead and Head of Year at a highly successful independent secondary school. I have experience teaching 11-18, and have been for the last 13 years. I'm an enthusiastic teacher of Chemistry (A-Level) and Biology (to GCSE) and I know the impact that 1:1 tutoring can have on your preparation for exams, or just your confidence with a subject. I hope to empower you and make strides in your progress through my tutoring sessions.

I bring experience and knowledge to the table. With years of being an A-Level examiner and school leader.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is always tailored to the individual. To start with I will find out about how you like to learn and what your goals are from me being your tutor. Whether it be help with homework tasks, revision guidance or exam preparation. We can then build a plan of action with you in mind so you get the most from your tutoring experience. I have access to a range of resources to help with your needs and I share everything that we do together digitally so you have resources you can refer to.

I have been tutoring since qualifying as a teacher, over a decade of experience both in person and online. I have a BSc in Biochemistry and a MEd in Education, I have also been an examiner for OCR and Pearson (Edexcel), so know what examiners look for and appreciate! With regards to online sessions, I am a former digital learning lead of a school so have confidence in providing engaging and useful session.

I am engaging and enthusiastic and will cater for all! I will tutor any age, and my experience covers Chemistry up to A-Level and Biology to GCSE. I am also an AI specialist and can provide tutoring on how to use it to support learning, not hinder it.
