About Shafin
-Experience with all Math Subjects from Albegra 1 to Calculus 4
-Personally tutoring students for enrichment/test prep since 2017
-Can target student's weaknesses and reinforce topics they're weak in for test preparation
-I can help the student prepare for higher levels of math by focusing on topics likely to appear in upper divisions of math
As a student I get how frustrating it is to not understand a topic or struggle with a subject. I love when a student finally comprehends a topic because all you need is someone to teach it in a way you understand. Information gets lost when sitting in a class and a tutor can make a seemingly impossible subject seem easy.
Started with private tutoring for my friends in high school since I was good in math. Kept it up during college, expanded by becoming a Teaching Assistant where I could be tutoring on a weekly basis. This year I started working in a child enrichment center teaching classes in C++/Python.

1) Give an assessment covering the topics of the subject to assess where the student is at

Have taught Math to College Students, High School Students, Middle School Students, and Elementary School Students
Don't hire someone that will teach the same as your regular teacher would. You need a teacher that can take the material and teach it in a way you can understand, not just reitterate it. You want someone that can work with you one on one and teach you the topic the way you can consume it.
Student came upto me last semester needing help in his precalculus class. This was his second time taking it and he was fearful he would fail. I worked with him throughout the semester, helping him with homeworks and test prep, and he ended up getting an A in the class.
