About Melissa

Ever since I was a little girl, I was always in the kitchen. I loved being around adults while the rest of the kids played silly games. I enjoyed cooking and learning from observation as well as asking lots of questions.

As a sophomore in high school, I began my culinary journey. I took culinary for three years and competed in regional competitions with a group three different times, winning 1st place each time and learning more than I ever thought I could. This solidified my love for cooking and encouraged me to pursue a career in this field.

First, I challenged myself at one of the Top 5 Hospitality Management schools in the world, Rosen College of Hospitality Management. I earned my degree in Restaurant and Foodservice Management from UCF in 2019. Immediately following graduation, I joined the Culinary Institute of America, finishing my Bachelors in Professional Studies of Culinary Arts in 2022.

As a military spouse and mom of two, my life is significantly different than I ever imagined it would be, but also more beautiful. I'd love to give you the tools you need to feel confident in the kitchen and show your friends and family the love you have for them, one bite at a time.

I love the joy that a meal can bring to a person. It's not only healing, but exciting and challenging. Depending on your goals, you can rediscover old food memories or create new ones. The kitchen is a place most of us have to use, so why not at least enjoy what we are doing?

I went to the University of Central Florida and earned a BS in Restaurant and Foodservice Management as well as a Bachelor in Professional Studies in Culinary Arts at The Culinary Institute of America.

About the lesson

I will work with you one on one. First, we will discuss exactly what you want to learn prior to class and I will design a lesson plan specific to your needs. We will work on anything from knife skills to a variety of cooking methods and more!

I reccomend to start with knife skills and cooking methods to create a foundation for any other learning!

$60 an hour including the lesson, the ingredients, and my hourly rate.

$75 if childcare is needed. This is determined case by case.
