About Jaleel

My first paid teaching gig was as a Financial Literacy Trainer for a nonprofit that was empowering its' community to go to secondary school, start a business or purchase their first home.

I received a number of compliments for my teaching style which eventually leads to cooking classes.

I have worked in almost every capacity in the restaurant industry. I have also been a personal chef for nine years. My military experience as a leader has also taught me the fundamentals of training and coaching.

About the lesson

I like to to take some time to speak with you and discover where you are currently. We can work together on specifics to help get you to the place where you're comfortable cooking on your own.

I have worked with students of all ages and cooking experiences. I can start with fundamentals or I can teach molecular gastronomy and sous vide cooking techniques.

I don't claim to know everything but I feel pretty comfortable and confident in the kitchen at all times.

Be sure to share what you would like to know, share areas in which you could use some improvement and be honest about your weaknesses.

Cooking classes should be fun and educational.

Try to relax, be open and prepared to have fun while you develop your cooking skills.

I was cooking for three ambitious business ladies holding a quarterly planning meeting at home. They asked me to cook lunch for them during their planning session.

Salmon was the main course and one of my clients historically have not been very fond of fish. At the conclusion of the meal, she thanked me for opening her eyes to new possibilities with fish.
