About Kristen
Hi all! My name is Kristen. I am a certified Speech-Language Pathologist looking to make supplemental income by helping students work towards their potential and achieve their goals. My teaching style is peer-to-peer. I encourage internal motivation through self-evaluation.
Test Prep: I am well-versed in standardized test structure and preparation tools. I have passed the PSATs, SATs, GREs, and Praxis exams all within the last 10 years.
I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders because of my passion for research and teaching. I always tell my clients, "there are no wrong answers, only learning opportunities," because I believe it is important to redefine 'failure' in order to truly succeed.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Science and a Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders (Speech-Language Pathology).

Establish rapport, discuss study strengths/weaknesses and routine, and create personal goals. The relationship between teacher and student must stand on trust, first and foremost.
I have been a teacher to typically-developing students as well as students with intellectual disabilities, complex disabilities, behaviors, etc. I have worked with students of all ages as a speech-language pathologist (infant to geriatric) and understand the personal needs of each age group.
Think about your goals and what you want to accomplish. My job is to guide you towards your goals by lowering the academic hurdles you need to clear in order to get there.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The needs of the student should be determined through open, honest conversation facilitated by the teacher in the very first tutoring session. A student should never fear the idea of asking for help.
