About Christine
My lessons focus on connection, partnering, and musicality. Mastering anything is about a having a deep understanding of the fundamentals. My clients learn to communicate clearly, listen interntly, and also add elements of thier own style. As they build a core vocabulary, we add styling and variations, which allow even very new clients to feel confident on the social dance floor.
I love helping people bring thier visions of movement and connection to life. Dancing is a great way to stay active, but that is just the beginning. Dance communities forster relationships. People come out to dance to see old friends, and make new friends. Perhaps most importantly it is playful and fun. It is a pleasure to be able tol assist in adding the many benefits of dance to people's lives.
I started dacing shortly after I could walk. My parents enrolled me in ballet, tap, and jazz. I discovered partner dancing sometime in the 80s, most likely when the movie Dirty Dancing came out. I remember the day I walked into Nostaligia Ballroom, which later became a Fred Astaire. I'd planned to purchase lessons, but then I noticed a now hiring sign. It said that they had openings for instructors, and that there was no experience necessary. The following Monday, I began my ten weeks of training, and the rest is history...

While I was at the ballroom studio, I worked mostly with begginners, competitors wanting arm styling and embellishments, and couples looking for wedding choreography.
In 2010, I moved from ballroom into swing. That is when I started teaching East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Blues, and Fusion. Since than most of my students have been attending one, two, or three day workshops and intensives, private lessons, and group lessons prior to local dances.

Details
My rates for private lessons are:
$60 an hour for single sessions
$55 an hour for 4 or 8 session packages (1-2 months)
$50 an hour for 12 or 16 session packages (3-4 months)
