About Sasha

Hey, Sasha speaking! I would be thrilled to share my passion for dance with you. I am trained in various styles including ballroom, ballet, bellydance, hip hop and ariel arts (ariel silk, hoop and pole). I have been teaching different subjects for 5 years with a focus in instructing ballroom for the last 2 years. I believe dance is a healing and liberating art and would love to help you find your flow. Not only is dance fun, but it will come in handy at parties and events, and is a great way to socialize. I am experienced with both kids ages 4 and up as well as adults, so please feel free to contact me, and we can begin an awesome journey.

I started teaching ballroom dance 4 years ago for national 9 dance champions Amanda and Ilya Reyzin, and have expanded into other styles and my own practice since then.

I have been teaching dance for 4 years and dancing for 12. I have worked with many syllabi for various studios, and many styles of dance in my private practice. Being mentored by national ballroom champions, and learning from some of the best in the business has given me tremendous experiance in expanding my own craft.

About the lesson

The first lesson is exploritory in nature. Many times student come in with a vague view of what exactly it is they would like to learn. My job is to help them discover a direction by experimenting with a few varieties of movement in their selected category, and creating a tailored plan based on the first few lessons. I target various learning styles through demonstration, auditory explanation and repetition, and build upon the areas student most enjoy.

I have worked with everyone from wedding couples preparing for their first dance, to kids getting ready for showcases and talent shows, to adults just wanting to move more fluidly and confidently in their social lives.

Finding someone who you get along with and can adjust to your learning style is crucial. There are many incredible dancers who are not good teachers, and some decent dancers who are amazing teachers.

My dance partner and I recently places 3rd at a professional competition after a few months of training together. It was a pretty good first event together.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It helps teachers to know your dance background if any, what about dance first got you interested, and what benifits you hope to gain from your lessons, so they can better tailor lessons to your needs. Remeber cost is not the only factor, the value you get for a price is far more important. Someone may show you some steps in a general group class for a good price, but that wont make your dancing feel good, teach you much teqnique, or help you dance with others confidently.
