About Emily
Dance has been a huge part of my life since I was 3 years old. I have a deeply rooted passion for it and that passion and love is what fuels my teaching. For me, dance has always been more than just a hobby, it's been a healthy emotional outlet. I truly beleive that anyone can be a dancer, no matter what age or level! I love the process of mentoring others through movement.
I started my training at Larkin Dance Studio in St. Paul MN (as seen on SYTYCD & World Of Dance). I moved from Minneapolis to NYC 9 years ago to attended Pace University where I studied Dance and Musical Theatre in the BFA program. I'm also a NASM certified personal trainer and group fitness insctructor at Body By Simone in NYC. Due to my fitness background, my teaching is rooted in ensuring proper form and alignment.
I am most proficent in teaching styles of Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre. I love working in one on one settings so I can focus 100% of my attention on a student. I always do my best to create a safe, non-judgemental, and positive environment!
Transformation has always been a word that holds important meaning to me. It’s what I enjoy most about teaching dance: watching my students grow and transform not only as dancers, but as artists and as people. There is a great discipline to be found in dance, and I find that it carries over into all other areas of life.

Prior to our first session, we will connect via phone or email so I can get a better idea of your unique goals for our lessons. We will go over your years of dance experience (If any! No experience is of course always welcomed), then go over the logistics. The best way to reach me is via email or phone.

I've worked with a varierty of students over the years, each ranging in ability, age, and styles of dance. I can teach all levels from absolute beginner to advanced. I've worked with students as young as 5 years old to 50 years old.
Students train with me for various reasons... ex.) When they want to improve their technique, when they want to find their love and joy for dance again, or when they need help in acheiving specifc goals.

$80 per hour session
5% discount for 5 pack session ($380)
10% discount for 10 pack session ($720)
$600 flat rate for solo choreography (This is for students in need of a piece choreographed for a performance such as a dance competition)
