About Kelley

I provide art lessons that are enjoyable and accessible to everyone, and customized to meet the needs and goals of each individual student. I accept all levels from complete novice to advanced.

We can focus on a specific skill: acrylic painting, abstract painting, mixed media painting, watercolors, or drawing. Or do a little of any/all of the above. At my studio at 2204 Summer St, Houston, TX 77007, you have the option of small group art classes or private lessons. I can provide all materials, or give you a list of a few things to pick up like a sketchbook. I also offer online lessons - contact me for details.

I've been training as an artist for over 20 years, and have been working and selling as a professional artist for 5 years. My B.A. is in art history and french with many hours of studio art. I have 10 years of teaching experience in public high schools in France and Houston. And I currently own Splash Painting and Wine, a sip and paint "painting party" company, which operates out of BLUEorange Studio. We guide students step-by-step in creating a complete painting on canvas in 2 to 3 hours. So you have the option of doing these types of paintings if you choose, but my lessons are designed more as actual art lessons where you'll be working on building specific skills as you complete various art projects at your own pace. We will find whatever balance of self-guided vs. instructor assigned that works for you.

I'm also a Certified Therapeutic Art Coach. Therapeutic art sessions are completely separate from regular art classes and can be scheduled individually (just once), or on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. These sessions are always private unless you wish to bring a group. Please contact me for more info.

Drawing lessons offered by Kelley are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Houston. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
