About Houston

I have been immersed in the creative and performing arts from a young age. Since I was 9, I have been a professional juggler, winning national and international awards from acts I developed and performed. Throughout my high school career I was involved in directing productions, designing costumes and scenery, as well as graphic design. I believe strongly in the power of a team effort which has led me to make many valuable connections in the industry. I am currently a 3rd year student and Kenan Excellence Scholar at the University of NC School of the Arts studying Scenic Design. I also work for a professional circus company in Charlotte, NC directing and producing original shows with a variety of performing artists from all backgrounds. I am a self-taught juggler/circus director however I have numerous professional accomplishements and awards which you can find on my website. For visual arts and software, I have a mixture of training including from practicing artists and professors at The University of North Carolina School of the Arts. I have been awarded multiple grants and scholarships based on the work I have presented in and outside of school.

About the lesson

First, we will talk about your goals as well as assess you current skills. Depending on the discipline you want to learn we will establish achievable goals so that you may see the progress over a period of time. Lessons will include not just practical skill but lay the foundation for the creative process needed to accomplish a piece of work.
