About Sarah

I prioritize getting to know my students! I spend my time bonding with them inside (and perhaps outside if allowed) tutoring hours while still maintaining an efficient teaching schedule. I believe that by knowing my students better, I can adjust my teaching style to best suit their needs and wants.

With my art, I have won a Silver Key in the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition of 2018, received a score of 5 in my AP2D Art Portfolio AP Test, and have been an active member of the National Art Honors Society for 3+ years.

I love getting to know all kinds of people, discover their insights and views, and watching them grow in both the subject I am teaching and as a person! I also love teaching and am pursuing elementary school art teaching! I don't only teach elementary school-age kids, I can teach absolutely any age! I hope I get to work with you!

I started general teaching in 9th grade and have taught people of all ages since then. I realized my passion for teaching after volunteering at my church. Ever since then, I have been teaching and will keep teaching for as long as I know.

I'm an Upstreet volunteer and have worked with elementary-school level kids for 4+ years. I worked as a swim instructor professionally for 2 years in Lifetime, so I have much experience working with kids!

As for art-related experiences, I used to take art-portfolio-building classes for a total of 5 years.

About the lesson

When I work with a new student, I ask him or her questions about their experience, what he or she plans to do in the future, and what goal he or she would like to reach regarding drawing. I value getting to know my students so I can adjust my teaching style based on these to best suit him or her.

I have worked with children ranging from 3-15 years old. Though the average age I work with is 7-10 years old!
