About Debbi

My goal is to instill in my students the love of learning. My passion is teaching reading, as this opens the world to them and is the foundation to educational success. Since 1981, I have homeschooled and have taught in public, private and Christian schools. My daughters graduated from college after being homeschooled. I acquired my Masters in Teaching Special Education in 2011. After obtaining my WV Permanent Teaching Certification, I retired from the classroom in 2018 and began my business to help students and their families. I believe education is a very private family decision, but I can help any student that is struggling in their chosen academic environment.

I have my Masters in Teaching Special Ed. I have over 30 years teaching experience in the classroom and one on one.

About the lesson

I may start with a phone introduction, and then I always like to meet face-to-face to see if the family and I are comfortable with each other. Then, if the family wishes, I like to assess the student to find their strengths, weaknesses and learning styles so I know best how to proceed from there.

I charge $35 per hour. There is a $5 per hour discount if the teaching is done in my home or online.
