About Lari

Hello, my name is Larissa and I am very excited to teach your child! I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Central Florida. I have been working in the educational field since 2005. I spent five years in the Dominican Republic teaching English to children in a language institute. I also taught English Language Arts at a bilingual American school. For the last nine years I have homeschooled my children grades K - 7, taught many classes at our homeschooling co-op, was an enrichment teacher at a local private school and have been an online ESL teacher for the last three years.

I love seeing the excitement in my students as they master new skills. I love finding new ways that are unique to my students in helping them master new skills. My goal is to instilling the love of learning in my students.

In 2005 I was offered the opportunity to teach English to children oversees. Over the next 5 years, I taught children from K-12, ESL (English as a Second Language). During this time, I was also a 6th grade langauage arts and science teacher at an American bilingual school.

About the lesson

I like to start out by talking to parents and getting an idea of what their goals are for their child. We can do this over the phone or in person. Then, like to spend some time during our first session getting to know my student, their learning style and a general assessment of where they are. I will then come up with an educational plan of how we can meet their indivudual goals. I will update the parents each tutoring sesson of how things are going.

I typically work with students grades K-5.
