About Katie

I have tutored since I was in high school. But I have professional experience tutoring for my old college for about 4 years now. I am super personable, and I understand how hard writing can be. I want to be here to help you excel in your classes!

I started in high school. My school had a math tutoring club in which I would teach once a week. I found out that I could make money off of it. And once I entered college, I started working as an English Tutor as well. I've always loved teaching though. Both my parents are teachers, and I like to say that it runs in my blood.

I started tutoring lower-level math in high school, so I am equipped for math up to "end-of-middle-school levels". I have been working at my old community college's tutoring center since 2019 as an English Tutor. I have also received tutoring training through the center multiple times while I've worked there. Most of my tutoring has moved online due to COVID, so I have the tools necessary now to make that interaction as flawless as possible.

About the lesson

I like to chat with the student primarily about what they need help with, then I'll move forward with scheduling a zoom meeting.

I've worked with students ranging from 2nd grade through college-level classes in English. In terms of Math tutoring, I can teach from 2nd grade up to 8th grade.

My advice would be to make sure that you can relate to the tutor, and that the experience is enjoyable. When we are trying to learn from someone we don't agree with, we don't absorb as much information.

I can't really pinpoint a specific event that I am fond of. One of the things that I enjoy the most about tutoring is getting to make connections with students; when I have those connections, it's so much easier to help them along in their studies. I'm fond of that specific connection.
