About Gia
Hello my name is Gia and I am 16 years old. I am in AP language Arts and like to spend my free time teaching young children. I teach from Pre K to kindergarten and love to get involved with the children. I spend a lot of time babysitting and helping younger levels with homework. I mostly help children with handwriting, spelling, pronunciation, and memorization. I can't wait to get to know each and everyone of my students.
I enjoy seeing my young ones grow and get excited when learning new things. I love when the students get engaged and even notice their progress.
I started teaching last year went the kids I babysat needed help with their homework.
I am in high school and do work with children in my free time I am a native English speaker and have been tutoring for a year.

I like to start with the Alphabet of course, and talk to the parents to see what we need to work on. Then I usually give them a short story that is a very low level to see if they know any sight words. I will then teach them sounds and 3 letter words.
I've worked with kids who had trouble pronouncing words or who wrote letters backwards. I've worked with unmotivated students and students who had issues spelling/reading.
My advice is to find a teacher your children likes. Some kids will have a mental block if they simply don't like the person who is teaching them. I find this to be a huge problem because it leads to the child doubting themselves.
A reset event I am fond of is helping a 5 year old I babysit get to first grade. He had major issues with his sight words but after a lot of hard work we managed to get him where he was supposed to be!

Details
I charge by the hour, for Pre K I charge 8 dollars a hour. For kindergarten and 1st grade I charge 9 dollars a hour.
