About Angelia
Hi! My name is Angelia, and I'm a senior in high school. I feel as though it's worth mentioning that I am LGBTQIA+ friendly and all are welcome! I've always been passionate about English, and it is my best subject. I have been in honors classes since they became available to me, and I'm currently in AP Language and Composition and AP U.S. History. Even though I've only been formally tutoring for a couple of years now, before I started doing so I was always helping my peers with their English and History homework. I admit, this isn't solely because I enjoy teaching and learning these subjects, it's also because I intend to be a professor and I want to have some educational experience. I tutor grades 6-10. I've always enjoyed teaching and learning, so whenever there was an oppurtunity to do so I always jumped at the chance. I've almost never said no when one of my peers, younger classmates, friends, or anyone really has asked me for help.

I like to have a conversation with the student as well as their parent/gaurdian. The parent and student can express their concerns and what they feel they need to work on, and I'll use that to create an action plan for what we have to accomplish. Furthermore, I'll do additional research on whatever topics need help. For example, when one of my students needed help on reading comprehension, I read about the different teaching methods other educators use. For the sessions themselves, I look for different materials and I create worksheets and assignments using Google Drive and Google Classroom. I also send out plently of surveys to see if the student feels as though they are learning and enjoys our "classroom" environment.
Mostly students in grades six to eleven, but a few times I've worked with elementary chool age kids, although I prefer not to.

She was very helpful in peer revising my essay and Gave me very helpful feedback into improving my essay. I was practically getting D in English but with her help got a B.
