About Kelli

I started teaching fourth grade in 1996. Went back to school for a masters in literacy and then became a reading specialist. I currently teach 6th grade literacy. I also have an endorsement in ESL. I have been tutoring for about 15 years and love helping students with their homework and areas of focus. It is rewarding to me so see children grow in their education while having fun!

I love helping children discover their passion to read and write. I also enjoy encouraging children to set goals and then reach them.

About the lesson

I typically will spend some time getting to know a student. Discovering their interests is very important so they are more comfortable with me and feel at ease to ask for help. I will also administer a short reading inventory to help myself prepare for our lessons together.

I work with accelerated students, English Language Learners, students needing reading interventions, students with 504 plans, and students with an Individualized Education Plan. I have 23 years of experience teaching, therefore, I have had varying levels of students in my class.
