About Ashton

My entire career has been focused on writing, communicating, and helping others. As someone who has worked for nonprofit groups since I was in middle school, I know when and how to help others. I also know how it is to stuggle with a subject in school (math) and I understand how important it can be to have someone who will really listen and offer genuine help and advice about a subject they love.

I love writing as a subject both in assignments for school and as a hobby. I also love to help others succeed in areas they may be stuggling, as I faced hardship when learning math in school. I really enjoy offering others the same kindness and motivation that my math tutor offered me.

I began teaching when I was in 8th grade as a tutor and english teacher to multiple children at my younger brother's elementry school. As I entered high school and college, I continued tutoring as an english and history teaching.

I am a senior in college pursuing a degree in Journalism - Public Relations. Most of my classes throughout college have been focused on writing (various styles) and history. I am also passionate about fiction writing in my free time.

About the lesson

I start by assesing their needs - whether their tutoring is for school, work, or personal reasons. Depending on what type of writing or history we are focusing on, I will provide the student with a short written assessment to let me know their knowledge and skill level on the subject.

I have worked with students from elementry school all the way up to college level. I have also worked with multiple students with learning disabilities.

I would advise the student to be specific with their needs and to be clear on exactly what they need help on. As a tutor, I work best when I have time to prepare for specific subjects and lessons.
