About Corry

I gained admission to Yale, Stanford, Brown, Uc Berkeley, and UCLA. I made the decision to stay local so I could save money, and chose UCLA. I double majored in Gender Studies/Psychology and double minored in Sociology and English with honors. I graduated with the highest distinction: Summa Cum Laude (3.95 GPA). After finishing my B.A. I applied to graduate school for clinical psychology. I gained admission to Harvard, Yale, UNC Chapel Hill, UCLA, and UC Berkeley. I am currently on a PhD track at UCLA's graduate school of psychology.

I am dedicated to the success of my students and provide indivualized services based on their unique set of skills and personality.

I enjoy showing my students that just because they do not understand material the way it has formally been presented to them, does not mean they are not CAPABLE of understanding. EVERY student learns in a UNIQUE way. There is no ONE way to learn. Finding a way to help my students understand material in a way that 'clicks' for them is the most gratifying part of the job.

About the lesson

The first session I like to get a feel of each students learning style by simply talking to them about what they love to do in their spare time and what their favorite subjects are. Each student has a unique personality that must be taken into consideration when creating a constructive lesson plan. Making sure they feel excited to learn and make progress is an essential tool to their success.

Perfect! Corry has a fun and motivating approach to tutoring. She keeps things simple, yet still challenges my daughter in a positive way. Whatever I’ve asked her to address ( ie. homework and reports), she so far has exceeded my expectations. Corry works fast, and is extremely thorough so a lot gets accomplished during tutoring sessions. My daughter’s always struggled with English, and I’ve always hired tutors. However, this was the first tutor that I can see has had a impact. So far so great! :)
