About JORDAN

Let's face it, learning a language takes time and hard work! So why not have some fun while doing all that work?

I can help you make sense of grammar rules, help with pronunciation, and even accent reduction.

How? With my background of years of training in Western classical music as well as acting, I can make English fun for you.

I've always loved languages.

- As a kid, upon learning the "other writing" on some Pokemon cards was in Japanese, I wanted to learn it.

- I heard French in a movie at 6 years old and wanted to learn that.

Learning new languages helps you improve the understanding of your own.

With French, Japanese, Spanish and more, I've come to understand English well and how to teach it.

I first taught music for three years. I've always been a teacher in some capacity, such as training new employees, marching band section leader, and more.

I worked for the Teaching Abroad Program in France teaching English to French high school students for 2020-2021. I actively tutor English to foreign speakers on Preply.

I can also tutor in French. I lived in France for seven months and studied abroad there. I studied the language from 8th grade through university, earning a minor in it. Many native speakers have complimented me on my accent and pronunciation when speaking and even been surprised I wasn't French!

About the lesson

I ask you what you most want to work on - vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation - and go from there. I like to do a mix of conversation and focused work (whatever focus you want, with examples given above).

I've worked with ages from 5 to 64. This includes people from literally all over the world, like Mallorca, Burkina Faso, China, India, France, and Poland.

To look for someone patient but also that matches your style - do you want strict or laid-back? Do you want professional and remote or informal and a new friend?

Whenever I'm referred to a current student's friend, the friend choosing to take lessons, I feel happy. That happened just today (Sept 2, 2021).
