About Maria
I apply the experience I gained from my academic and professional background to assist students to meet their English learning goals. To learn more about my background, please see below:
- Awarded a full scholarship for a Master degree in Social Enterprise Administration at Columbia University
- Graduated magna cum laude from McGill University for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and International Development Studies.
- Over 10 years of overseas experience working in the private and public sector in marketing, immigration, and public affairs.
While I teach English of all levels to all ages, I specialize in improving students' oral and written communication.
I have worked with students to improve their writing (academic essays, speeches, university admissions personal essays, grants and other proposals.) I have also worked with students to improve their presentation skills, interview skills (both job interviews and university admissions interviews) and general English communication skills.
Whether you are a student in high school pursuing higher education, or you are a professional seeking to improve your business English, I will provide you with efficient methods and shortcuts to improve your English communication. As a language learner myself having studied Spanish, French, Vietnamese, and Chinese, I know how important it is to study what you are interested in and to study efficiently.
