About Valerie
Hello! I am in my third year of college. I used to tutor quite often in high school, and today I offer my friends and classmates help with their work regularly. I excel in essay writing and literary analysis. I was in honors English for all three of my college English classes (as well as all my high school English classes). I am patient and eager to help!
I am in my third year of college, I made A's in all of my Honors English College classes, and I tutor/have tutored friends and acquaintances in the past.

I like for the tutoring to be mostly student lead so that the student doesn't feel like I'm ignoring the problem. If it's a specific assignment I ask for the assignment details. If it's a general subject causing trouble, I like to use exercises I think will benefit the student and explain in a way I think will make sense (and sometimes this means thinking of new ways to explain things).

-Do I know what the exact issue is, or is it a broader problem?
-Is there an issue with the way a certain teacher is explaining the material? (or--do I need the material taught in a different way?)
-What do I expect from this tutor/what do I want to get out of tutoring sessions?

Details
I think this changes per student. Tutoring/helping with homework for middle schoolers and high schoolers is a lot easier than helping college students. In general, My rate goes from 10-30 dollars an hour (although I'm fairly comfortable with 15 per hour in general, and I'm more than happy to negotiate if there is budget issues.)
