About Bria

I offer a variety of services for English learners including grammar, speaking, conversation, testing, interview prep and many more services. It is not common for most people to know their purpose in life. I recognize that mine is to help others and it is a huge passion of mine to meet new people and exchange knowledge with other cultures.

One of the best things about teaching is that I learn from my students as well. I get to learn about their education style, culture, strengths and more. The most rewarding part is seeing the progress that my students make, which is always guaranteed ;) Students who are motivated to learn encourage me to show up to work every day.

For the past year I lived in Madrid, Spain teaching English to children in primary schools and eventually students of all ages and levels through an academy. I received my Master's Degree in Psychology in 2018 and was working as a Behavioral Therapist for 4+ years prior to teaching English.

About the lesson

Generally I start off with an introductory conversation, getting to know a little bit about the student and their background. From the initial introduction I can determine/discuss areas that a student needs improvement in and advance from there!

For the majority of my career I have worked with children, they are my favorite population hands down. However, through my online teaching endeavors I have worked a lot with students of all ages and levels (children to adults), specifically from Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Brazil.

I would def advise students looking to hire a teacher in my area of expertise to ask the teacher about their background and make sure that their goals will be met through their lessons together.

I worked closely with a foreign student for about 6 months so that he could apply for a job abroad. We prepped together for his English exam and he passed! It was a very proud moment.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should have a general idea about areas that they have difficulty in, such as grammar or reading, so that they can communicate those needs once they are ready to talk to teachers.
