About Ashley
I am a bachelor graduate from SUNY Newpaltz. I have a NYS teaching certification for birth through sixth grade. I love writing, poetry, photography, nature and adventure. I am qualified to teach any subject in any age range up to middle school. I can help prepare for testing, help with home work, or just general education. I am skilled in DBT or dialectical behavior therapy. DBT is a way of using emotions and logic simultaneously to achieve a better outcome to a situation. I’ve work primarily with young children one on one in the past. I believe that education and success should be available to every child no matter who they are or where they come from. I have two children of my own and understand the importance of early intervention. I have a student centered drive and a philosophy of acceptance and exploration.
After college I substituted for a while before starting full time work with young children.
I have worked in education system for 4 years. I have a early childhood education degree. I am NYS certified. I have work with high risk and special needs children and adults in the past.
