About Amitai

Hi! I am a current teacher who has taught multiple years in English, Social Studies, and Math.

One of my specialities is working with students 1-on-1. I look at what students need in order to learn, and connect them to learning through their interests.

I present students with goals in order to focus on taking steps in their learning. Additionally, I often see different angles in which students can connect to their learning through the proper perspective.

Teaching is one of the most enjoyable jobs because every day is completely different from the last. The feeling of learning in order to help others learn is the best realization.

I have worked with kids starting at a young age - I was a counselor at 14, continuing similar work for 4 different years.

In camp I also had experiences teaching students every day.

I started as a math major but switched because English spoke more to me. English has essential skills from which I knew I could transform my learning into a solid career.

I have been an avid reader since the age of 6, and I enjoy reading various types of books: Sci-Fi, History, Classics, Biographies. Other interests of mine include music and sports.

I have written various types of works in my free time such as blogs, essays, and lyrics. I enjoy organizing my thoughts into writing.

I majored in English in college, graduating in 2016.

I graduated from Fordham Graduate School of Education in 2017.

I have taught classes in:

English (Grades 5-11)

History (5 and 6)

Math (4-6)

and Science (5-6)

About the lesson

I often work with students who need extra support in their learning. I am proud of helping students take the steps they need to strengthen their skills, no matter how small or large the steps.

My teaching experience is wide-ranging, so I also find ways of redirecting strong students to finding the right perspective in any subject.
