About Christina

As a professional writer and editor, I know that confidence is key. Whether you're 5 or 95, I can help you find that confidence and learn to love the process of writing, reading, and comprehension.

Through my creative style of tutoring, I ensure that my clients actually enjoy the process, instead of mindlessly and begrudgingly "getting it over with."

I am a writer by trade, with my personal essay website accumulating over 3000 subscribers in its first year. You can also always find me with my nose in a book. Since I was not gifted with math skills, I got well over my fair share of verbal/written talent, and I'd like to help my clients discover their own passion and talent for story-telling in whatever form.

I won a spelling/grammar contest one time in fifth grade.(winnning word- squirrel) It was awesome, and the only qualification I think you need to hire me.

I enjoy seeing the glow of the "a-ha" moment come across my student's face when the material is just clicking or when the creative faucet just keeps flowing!

Language arts and a good command of the English langauge are so essential in today's world. We can make so many more connections when we're intentional with our words and can articulate exactly what we want to say in either a creative or matter-of-fact capacity.

About the lesson

The first step is getting to know my student, so that we both feel comfortable and can get into that creative headspace! After introductions (not terribly cheesy icebreakers, I promise), I like to get a feel for their current reading and writing style, so I can help refine or accenuate it in a way that ensures success.

From there, we take assignments head on. My teaching style is custom for each student however. It's silly to have a "rubric" for lessons when each student is wonderfully diverse. Also, we all learn differently! I customize the lessons to each student in a way that ensures a good creative flow and success with the assignments.
