About Keegan

Hi! My name is Keegan. I am currently an undergraduate senior at the New School, where I am majoring in Art History & Critical Theory and minoring in Culture & Media. I am passionate about my education and have maintained a 3.9 GPA throughout my college career, as well as being a Horatio Alger National Scholar. Throughout high school, I took mostly AP courses and have a wide breadth of knowledge in those areas, especially in preparation towards the AP exams. I started tutoring others while in high school, and would love to be able to continue to do so as a college student. Being a young person myself, I can easily relate to those that I'm tutoring and have an easy-going and personable demeanor. If you have any questions or would like to request a reference, please don't hesitate to ask!

I find the most rewarding work to be that which includes helping others. I love being a student myself, and enjoy sharing that with experience as much as I am able.

I have been tutoring other students for the past 10 years, which I began doing when I was just a middle school student. In high school, I was inducted into a tutoring program and begin to help others with homework after school. I took mostly AP courses throughout my high school career and, in turn, took many AP Exams, all of which I prepared for myself. In college, I have worked as an essay editor at my university's student center and have also worked as a copyeditor at multiple publications, the latest of which being Artforum magazine.

About the lesson

I go over their goals and strengths, and what they want to improve in; i.e., we will discuss an upcoming exam or essay that we can feasibly begin preparing for together.

I have worked with middle school, high school, and college students.

I would advise a student to look to someone they feel comfortable with - someone who respects students and the learning process, does not judge the rate or position of one's current progress, and is patient and kind.

My writing was recently published in Artforum for the first time, and it was big milestone for me, as it was my first time being published.
