About Meredith

Meredith Godsall is a certified special education teacher in New York City. She holds a Master's degree in General and Special Education Grades 1-6; along with additional coursework in psychology and pre-occupational therapy. She has been an educator for the past 10 years, in Minnesota, Chicago, and New York City. Currently she is a 5th grade teacher at PS 197 in Manhattan. She has previously worked with students PreK-5th in public, private, and charter school settings. Her extensive background and training in the language arts and reading comprehension allows her to utilize a variety of teaching methods in order to create custom plans and educational tools that are individually tailored in order to help students to excel in these fields. She has been trained in The Wilson Language System, Orton Gillingham, Reading Roots, SFA, AMPS, Discover Reading, F&P, and Leaps.

Meredith currently works in a range of subjects, including, reading, public speaking, math, and test prep.

Her students have made great leaps in their subjects by moving forward in their academic mastery, increasing their test scores, and overall confidence. Notably, Meredith was very proud of one of her students this fall when she moved from a 54 in her verbal section of ISEE to a 97. Her students consistently receive 4s on their state tests.

Meredith's test prep students have been accepted at schools such as, Bronx Science, Ellinor Roosevelt, and NYU.

When working with reading students, Meredith focuses on created custom programming to student meet and exceed grade level reading standards, as well as develop a love of storytelling and reading.

I began teaching in college but my career took off in 2014. I was hired at a tutoring company in Chicago. I feel in love with teaching and decided to get my Master's and persue a career in NYC.

About the lesson

I do an intake interview, baseline assessment, and then create a custom plan.

We discuss your needs, goals, and wants. We will then implement the plan.
