About Lora

We/I offer a fun and non-evasive teaching style. We use direct and grammar-translation methods of tutoring. Repetition and grammar are our unique skill sets we have our students follow. Learning is easy as long as you keep it exciting and fresh! New lesson plans are prepared daily, therefore everyone gets a shot at fresh and new ideas. We listen to clues as to how to get our students on the right page. Listening is an important aspect to tutoring. We use plenty of annunciation and play many English centered games to keep the students' mind motivated. With a Bachelor's Degree in English I can assure only the best quality tutoring experience.

I love the excitement and joy-filled appreciation I get from my students. They is better than any monetary value. When a student lights up a room with their smile after conquering a hard lesson, it is true bliss.

I have taught English a number of years within the Chicago Public School system. My services were usually free to low income families and even at pay, I only did it for the gratification of being important. I also have 3 grown children so life experience has not eluded me. I have a degree in English, therefore my knowledge has been ongoing with continuing education at increments at a time. I stay on top of the newest educational trends as well as life trends to instill these trends into my teaching styles.

About the lesson

As we/I get to know a student we really rely on body language and eye contact to delve into our students' lives. We really pay attention to what they are trying to convey and we let them draw or find another outlet for us to get to know each other. We implement trust and comfort by utilizing song and rhyme, age appropriate of course. We just let them know we are not there to harm them or make life hard for them. We let them know we care.
