About Britany

I am a librarian with 10 years of teaching experience ranging from early childhood education to secondary special education. I have degrees in English Literature, Literacy and Library Science. I hold 9 different teaching degrees and have co-taught or taught in multiple subject areas.

As a librarian I enjoy the fact that I get to teach kids from pre-K through 12th grade. I love helping teachers enhance their lessons and I really enjoy the fact that I get to "dabble" at every grade level in all the different content areas.

I went on a missions trip as a Junior in high school to Jamaica where we taught English and basic Math lessons to adults. I was hooked on teaching from that point on.

Undergraduate degree in English Literature focusing on Childhood and Secondary education with dual certification in Special Education.

Graduate degrees in Literacy and Library Science with certifications as a Literacy Specialist and Library Media Specialist.

About the lesson

I believe in building a relationship with the student first in order to better assess both their strengths and needs. From there it is important to figure out their learning style and create attainable goals.

My teaching degrees range from Early Childhood through Adolescent Secondary Education. I taught Pre-Kindergarten for 2 years, secondary Special Education for 5 years, and currently hold a District Librarian position in which I work with kids ranging in age from Pre-K through 12th and students with a wide range of needs from Special Education to Honors level.
