About Eve
I have been tutoring children and adults for nine years. My educational background consists of a Bachelor's degree in Education from Pitzer College and a Master's degree in Social Work from Bryn Mawr College. I have tutored English Language Learners, as well as native English speakers in Kindergarten, elementary school, and Sixth and Seventh grade students. I have tutored in topics of literacy, writing, and general language arts. I also have experience teaching and tutoring Pre-School, Kindergarten, and elementary school students in Judaic topics and Hebrew language.
In addition to academic instruction, I have also worked in therapeutic environments as a therapist and behavioral coach, in which I focused on building socio-emotional skills and pursuing behavioral goals with students. I bring creative, strengths-based, and therapeutic approaches to working in both typical and therapeutic environments.
I am passionate about tutoring and teaching because these roles give me the opportunity to encourage learners and help them build their confidence in their academic abilities. This, in turn, inspires students' passion for education.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Education from Pitzer College and a Master's degree in Social Work from Bryn Mawr College, as well as training in tutoring literacy

When meeting a new student, I converse with them about their hobbies and other relevant topics to become familiar with their personality. I engage the student in identifying their strengths, educational goals, and preferred learning style. With this information in mind, I guide the student through an initial lesson to gain a sense of their current academic level in a given topic. I then create academic goals for this student.
I have worked with English Language Learners, as well as native English speakers. I have worked with both typical students and students with special needs.
