About Bethaney

I offer competitive rates that are more reasonable than those of a tutoring center. I have extensive content knowledge and experience with designing curriculum to cater to an individual's needs.

Patient, compassionate, and attuned to my students’ needs as individuals, I have committed myself to being a flexible lifelong learner who constantly evolves and grows alongside my students, ensuring that lessons, materials, and instructional practices are current, personal, developmentally appropriate, and meaningful for every student.

Becoming a teacher had always been a passion of mine, which is why I completed a dual degree K-12 teaching program at a university. Even before I obtained my certificate, I spent a lot of time in schools and classrooms as a substitute teacher and peer tutor.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rowan University with a dual degree in English and Subject Matter Education, and I have a Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing in English.

In addition to being a peer tutor in both high school and college, I have several years of experience working in both public and private educational settings in the roles of Teacher, Substitute Teacher, Teacher's Aide, and Tutor. In my free time, I honed my skills by writing both fiction and non fiction and remotely collaborating with and editing the works of writers all over the world.

While working for tutoring centers, Sylvan and Huntington, I gained invaluable experience that has better prepared me to address the needs of my students and conduct meaningful and successful tutoring sessions. I have taught/tutored students preschool-aged to adult in various subjects, including but not limited to English, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, and Maths (elementary-8th grade). I also have experience in test preparation, including the SAT, ACT, ASVAB, and Praxis.

About the lesson

English lessons offered by Bethaney are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Pitman. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
