About Kayla
Energetic, Creative and Reliable Education Professional for over 11 years with a Masters in Elementary Education from University of Portland and a B.S. in Secondary Art Education from Northern Arizona University. Experienced as a Licensed Reading Specialist, and Art Educator in both Arizona and Oregon.
Skilled in Curriculum Development, Strategic Planning, Training Logistics, Multi-Media and Course Creation, and Multi-Disciplinary Teams, Facilitating in-person and virtual learning experiences using a variety of applications; and Utilizing Educational Best Practices, Adult Learning Theories, Child Development Psychology and Instructional Design Methodologies to inform Instruction.
Strong propensity for creating learner-centered environments that are inclusive, positive, and rigorous to foster the retention of learning.
I use activity-based lesson plans to incorporate a variety of multi-sensory strategies to enhance visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile learning styles.
I am a graduate level educator, currently working as a middle school art teacher here in Queen Creek, AZ. I hold licensure in PK-12 grade education, 11+ years of teaching experience and am a highly qualified Reading Specialist. My expertise is at the elementary and middle school level with an emphasis on phonics skills, reading comprehension, writing structure and math skills. I am committed to developing a personalized curriculum and plan of action for each individual child that I teach. It is important to excecute this plan of action with a clear understanding of the students base level in the content area(s) specified and then move forward with clear, concsise and attainable goals. These goals become clear after recieveing input from parents, teachers and my own baseline assessments.

Details
I charge $50 an hour, cash, check, or a preferred money app. Student and I will meet for our 1-on-1 session at the Queen Creek Public Library at a pre-scheduled time. My availability is M-TH 5-8pm. Cancellations need to be communicated as soon as possible.
