About Christie

My main goal is to strengthen a student's writing capabilities. However, I want this to be a meaningful experience that treats my students as the writers I know they can be. Feedback will always tailored to areas of strengths and areas of growth; but within that feedback, students will also receive action-oriented advice.

Another goal is to make the time spent together fun by building strong and positive relationships with my students.

The most exciting aspect is sharing my passion for writing with others and using it to help students improve themselves as writers. Writing can be difficult. There's no question there. However, I truly believe that, with some time, patience and quality advice, anyone can be a great writer.

I've always liked helping others! It always made me feel fulfilled with I've offered sound advice to my fellow writers, through writing clubs or to other students who truly wanted to improve. If not improve, then solve the issues they were focused on to better their storytelling, arguments and more.

When I started working as a teaching assistant at Macro Learning, I really enjoyed the effective advice and feedback I provided. It further solidified my desire to help others. My goal is always to help students improve but in a way that they can find the joy and passion in writing.

I'm currently working as a teaching assistant who helps teachers grade their students assignments, primarily English-related assignments (such as essays, prompts, narratives and more). I provide students with advice directly on their assignments and give them general feedback for their overall strengths and growth.

About the lesson

When working with a new student, I like to get to them first, especially when it comes to their experiences with writing. These experiences can be both positive and negative as well as their strengths and what they'll like to improve on. From there, I'll like to take a look at some of their recent writing, give general feedback and then work towards improving those written assignments. I also like to provide advice, give effective and precise feedback and plan ahead for future sessions.

I've worked with middle school and high school students across the US. Generally, students ranged from ESL to Advanced English.
