About Duane

Learn Well Tutoring is dedicated to the success of our students and all students out there. IF our team is unable to meet the academic, artistic or vocational goal you have in mind, then for free we will research and find you another tutoring company that can. We want you to succeed.

Secondly, after an assessment related to your academic goal, you will be allowed to have sessions with several of our tutors so that you find the right fit. Once found, that tutor will be your personal tutor; none of that every-session-a-different tutor merry-go-round! Learn Well provides professional, experienced tutors dedicated to their individual students. Please contact us and meet our tutors!

About Duane Flanigan, owner/operator of Learn Well. Duane graudated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor's Degree in Rhetoric and Economics. He went on to a Master's Program in Education also at Berkeley. He holds a State of California English Credential, a TEFL and CELTA certificates and has spent over 12 years living and teaching in foreign countries: China, Japan, Vietnam, Guatemala, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Dubai, UAE.

Duane has been voted best teacher of the year at three different schools. He has experience teaching ages 5 up to 65; Young Learners, teens, adults, college students, company staff and individually online.

Bachelor's Degree in Rhetoric. TEFL and CELTA international teaching certificates. State of California English Teaching Credential. 8 years experience teaching in schools in California. 12 years experience teaching abroad in language centers, schools, colleges and universities.

About the lesson

Depending upon their ability level in English, I first try to develop rapport with a new student; their interests and hobbies, Their dreams, hopes, challenges, obstacles. Aspects to their culture; cuisine, arts, sports, etc.

Then we move onto a formal language proficiency assessment. I review the results with them, and from that we develop together a focus for their language studies. I then have them try out for free a few different tutors, so that they can find the style they can best perform with in their studies.
