About Katherine

I am a college student close to graduating, and I am currently studying Film Production and Animation. I have taken many college courses ranging from English to History to everything you can think of inbetween. I also come from a family of History and English teachers, and have tutored in those subjects for over 5 years.

I love to help people learn, and am excited to work with you!

My family is full of teachers and for a while I wanted to be one too. I love helping others learn and sharing my knowledge!

I worked as a tutor all throughout High School, as well as sometimes in College. Most of my family consists of teachers, so I've learned a thing or two about various methods of teaching.

About the lesson

I like to see some of their work, as well as talk to them about what they want to accomplish. Setting goals is important! I also like to find out what learning style works best for them, as not everyone learns the same! My goal is to help you learn, and I want to figure out the best way to help before we start going strong, so you can retain all the info you need to learn.

I have worked with all ages, from well before 2nd grade to college age students.

Be open to learning! The topics that I teach can be hard to learn sometimes because they're a lot more vague than Math or Science. But be sure that you can learn from your tutor's method of teaching- you're paying them to learn too!

I taught basic drawing methods to a student recently, and they found that they really loved to draw once I taught them methods that they could learn easily from. It made me so excited to share a passion with somebody I was teaching!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Do I know what I'm missing? Is it a focus problem, or is it a learning problem? How can I help myself- Is there anything that I can do to fix the problem I'm facing, or am I at the point that I need to ask someone else for help?

Usually It depends on the level of complexity of the class. Elementary level classes are about 15/hr, Middle School-High School are about 20/hr, and anything beyond is about 25/hr.
