About Ryenne

I've known I wanted to teach students in some capacity since I was seven years old. I taught my brother his ABC's before he went to preschool, and was always volunteering to be a teacher's aid as much as possible in High school. Furthermore, I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in the arts for Education. I am on my third year of Elementary Education with a concentration in reading at Purdue University. I have a minor in global studies. Likewise, I look forward to encouraging young minds in finding enjoyment in both the reading and writing aspects of Language Arts. I am fluent in both Spanish and English and would gladly take on Learners who have English as a secondary language.

I was hired by the Tippecanoe County School Corporation as a traveling substitute teacher. I have math, reading, and writing tutoring experience with West Lafayette Intermediate School and Amelia Earhart Elementary School.

I love working with kids, and I am a very bubbly, energetic, and charismatic person.

I am in my third year at Purdue University. I am pursuing a bachelors degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in reading. Furthermore, I plan on getting my masters in curriculum and instruction after college.

About the lesson

When meeting with a new student, I start by introducing myself and getting to know the student's thoughts and feelings and how they best learn. While I understand the pandemic has made meeting face to face difficult, I prefer to meet my students in person. This is because I believe a teacher has the most impact on a student when they can relate in person.

I have worked with students from ages 5 to 12 years of age. I have taught and tutored students with exceptional needs, high ability, and English language learners.

Details

My standard pricing rate is $16 an hour per child, however I am wiling to work with families who need a lower rate when provided with proof of financial need such as food stamps, free and reduced lunch, and other proof at my discretion.
