About Amy

I am a passionate person who loves to speak to new people, so I love to connect to my students on a personal level to really find out what they want to get from learning English.

My service is great if you want to work on Pronunciation, vocabulary growth, and daily conversational skills.

I am a new university graduate, so I have a connection with younger English learners as well as older.

I love working with people learning a new language, as I am a language learner myself. It always makes me happy to see someone learn something new. I may not have official classroom experience as a teacher however, I have worked with numerous college-aged English learners as a tutor.

I have a Bachelor's in International Relations with a certification in TESL/TEFL (Teaching English as a Second/ Foreign Language).

No official classroom experience, however, I did a week-long program in an elementary school in South Korea, I have also worked at English camps through missions work and Tutored international students at my past university.

About the lesson

Our first session is a chance for us to talk and see where the student stands on their language abilities. I also go over any specific topics that they want to learn about. We then decide on a specific time and day to continue our tutoring.

I have worked with younger kids from different types of backgrounds and from varying native languages.

However, most of my experience comes from college-aged students, coming from Asia.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students need to know why they are learning the language and what they want to get from the lessons. I cannot tell them that. I can suggest where they need improvement but I can not tell them why they are learning or what they really want to learn it for.
