I decided to give myself a gift, last year. To start playing the saxophone (my childhood dream). I was so intimidated and nervous, by luck I found Jens and by gosh am I glad I did.
Such a gentle and hardworking teacher. By the third lesson I was hooked and knew this was good for my soul and I started to understand how to swing and understand jazz more in depth! Each week I looked forward to learning and playing, with Jens detailing my progress and smoothing out my nervousness. I have had move out of town, but plan on a visit to have a lesson again. My daughter has been playing saxophone for a year and half and is 9 yrs old, she is quite gifted and wanted to add to her education with perhaps another teacher once a week to see if she got anything out of it.
I liked that Jens has years of conservatory and professional experience in Europe and America, and his focus not just on technicality but on sound. I watch the lessons with my daughter and I could see how much fun she had, but also how she seems more open. I loved how he forced on her sound rather than her technique. My experience has been the opposite with other teachers. My child is so excited to go see Jens he is lovely with children, patient and an exceptionally skilled teacher and player.

Jens is so patient!. I am a beginner and have not experienced expertise in teaching like his before. Jens has a very kind outlook, is so friendly and enjoyable and professional during our lessons that I feel its worth my time and a definite high light of my week.
I have tried other teachers but Jens is by far the best. His approach to teaching is great. Each week I progress and can feel changes in my playing and even thinking about the saxophone.

Starting to play saxophone was a dream for me since i was a child but I only got started as an adult. Meeting Jens helped me profoundly in achieving my goals which was to learn to play songs and start to do some improvising. The methodical approach Jens has to teaching is highly effective. Jens’ teaching is very serious, determined and efficient but also fun, relaxing and a space where we can joke and laugh. My level of playing has gone up by a lot using the toools and songs being given to me by Jens. I like the pieces he chooses for me to play and I like how his system makes practicing more fun than a chore. I recommend Jens to anyone who is in search of a great teacher saxophone or otherwise.

I always wanted to play sax but did’nt get started until a few years ago when I found Jens who helped me with purchasing one and started giving me lessons. The lessons were super well structured and included playing easy pieces in the beginning mixed up with technical exercises that all lead up to me actually being able to play the instrument as I had always dreamt of. I will recommend Jens as he is a great, very musical, and well structured person, always in a good mood and has a way of making me play things on the instrument I thought I could’nt.

Since I started lessons with Jens my level has been quickly progressing from complete beginners level to now being able to play melodies, songs and even do some improvising! Jens is so enthusiastic, always positive, helpful and is able to make me do subtle changes that makes my horn go from squeaky to suddenly great sounding. I can not recommend Jens more highly enough as a teacher. His lessons has been extremely efficient and fun. He is very kind and patient and gets the best out of me and my life long pursuit of playing saxophone.

Playing music by ear is a great way to learn to play, have fun and develop your ears at the same time. Jens is predominantly teaching without having to read sheet music which seems like the best and most exiting way to progress. Listening to him play and then try to copy that. Is a fundamental way to learn which has been very successful for my own musical advancement. Jens will pick a tune and teach it, in a call and response type method, only using the ears, which has been surprisingly efficient for my progress. Besides that he also pays close attention to mouth position, finger technique, breathing and more. Don’t hesitate to take a lesson with Jens. I learned a lot in just a few months of classes.

Jens is a fantastic teacher. He pays very close attention to every detail and persistently and patiently guides me through the process of improving weaknesses in my playing. He is very particular about getting it right. To Jens, the little details (relaxed fingers, precise rhythm and timing) are given just as much importance as the bigger things (tone, dynamics and expression) and receive equal work and attention. However, Jens is also flexible and understanding of the student's schedule and capabilities. In his own words (slightly paraphrased), "you're the one who determines what it is you want to get out of the lessons; I'm only here to help you achieve want you want to achieve.")

I’ve really enjoyed the last few months taking lessons with Jens. They are filled with helpful exercises and learning fun songs. I leave each week with clear guidance for practice on my own as well. I started with no previous experience and have been really happy with the progress and pace so far!
