I think the trick in tutoring Bm and english is to find the level where the kid can successfully solve a problem while still feeling challenged, and then to keep moving forward while keeping that pace, because that’s the level where people learn best. Too difficult and the kid becomes frustrated, demoralized, and ultimately resentful. Too easy and the kid gets bored and starts to think you’re a dud. If you get it right, your pupil will feel rewarded simply by making progress. Your pupil needs a healthy dose of achievement every session, so make sure you provide that by the time the session ends. Words of encouragement are not enough, I’m talking about actual math problems solved.
