About Jaskiran
I have been providing tuition since 2022, with experience teaching both individual and group classes to students from Year 3 to Year 6 and Form 1 to Form 5. Throughout my tutoring experience, I have taught various school subjects according to my students’ needs, with Mathematics being one of the subjects I particularly enjoy teaching. I'm able to teach in Malay and English language.
As a tutor, I understand that every student learns differently. Some students may understand a concept quickly, while others may need more time, examples, practice, or a different way of explanation. Therefore, I try to adapt my teaching methods according to each student’s age, ability, learning pace, and level of understanding. I believe that being patient and creating a comfortable learning environment is important because students learn better when they are not afraid of making mistakes or asking questions.
I also recently started offering online tuition and have experience conducting lessons virtually, with the necessary equipment and setup to provide effective online learning. I am comfortable using technology to explain concepts, guide students through questions, and make lessons interactive even when teaching remotely.
One thing I strongly believe in is the importance of building a strong foundation in Mathematics from an early stage. Mathematics is a subject where topics are often connected to one another, so when the basics are not properly understood, students may find later topics increasingly difficult. In particular, having a strong foundation from Form 1 can make a significant difference as students progress to more advanced Mathematics.
My aim is not simply to help students complete their homework or memorize formulas for an examination. I want them to understand why and how something works, develop their problem-solving skills, and become more confident in approaching questions independently. I believe starting early and strengthening the basics can help students avoid unnecessary struggles later on.
Most importantly, I want my students to know that struggling with Mathematics does not mean they are “bad at Math.” With the right explanation, consistent practice, patience, and guidance, improvement is possible. I hope to make Mathematics feel less intimidating and help each student progress at a pace that works for them while building the confidence they need to succeed.

My lessons are designed to make Mathematics easier to understand, more engaging, and less intimidating. I focus on building strong foundations, explaining concepts step by step, and adapting my teaching style to each student’s age, ability, and level of understanding.
I believe a Maths lesson should ideally be between 1½ and 2 hours. In my experience, less than 1½ hours may not provide enough time to properly explain concepts, cover the syllabus, answer questions, and allow students to practise what they have learned. At the same time, I prefer not to exceed 2 hours because students may become tired, lose concentration, and have difficulty absorbing new information effectively.
My lessons therefore aim to balance learning, explanation, and practice without overwhelming the student. I want students to have enough time to understand the topic rather than simply rushing through it. My goal is to help them build confidence, strengthen their fundamentals, improve their problem-solving skills, and gradually become more independent in Mathematics.
