About Christina
Hello! I am currently a high school social studies teacher for World Civilization in NJ. I have a Bachelors Degree in History and a Minor in Athletic Coaching from Salisbury Univeristy in Maryland. I have previously taught Ancient Civilization, Government and Civics, and currently World Civilization. I am also a three sport coach and understand what it takes for student motivation and have them succeed in a way they will be able to understand the material being taught.

Being a teacher, it is important to evaluate each individual student and see what type of learning style they prefer. Some examples are verbal, analytical, kinaesthetic, auditory, and visual learners. I would modify each lesson I teach to best fit my mentees with their most beneficial learning style.
I have worked with students on every level of strenghts and weaknesses. I have also worked with students that are very culturally diverse and try to add those backgrounds into what I teach so it makes a stronger connection. I have had many ESL students with many different languages and those who have IEPs or 504 accomodations. I love working with students who are facing a problem because nothing is more rewarding than seeing the "Ah ha!" moments they get when something finally makes sense.
