About Logan

I love teaching people how to speak and write in different languages. It is important to be able to understand one another and having a second or third language sets you up for success in life. I've been studying German for four years and have spoken Irish for six years. I took another six years of Spanish courses throughout my schooling.

I started tutoring as volunteer work after school and have served as a tutor and teacher since I graduated college.

I have taken six years of Spanish and four years of German in secondary and undergraduate school. I have also studied Irish both in class and out in public (pop-up Gaeltachtaí) for six years. For three years I served as a math tutor and have recently served two years as a special education worker.

About the lesson

First, I like to talk with the student or parent to see where their level is. I feel it is important to evaluate both written and verbal communication. Then, I ask what the student wants to get out of tutoring and we make a plan together to set them on a path for success.

I have experience working with people with special needs and with grade schoolers of all ages.

Even if a tutor is intelligent, they may not be the right fit for you. Finding yourself a teacher who matches your style is the most important thing you can do in finding a good tutor. If your teacher does not match with your learning style, it is okay to find a different one.

I recently began providing free basic Irish lessons to people who hang out at the local Irish pub so that people in the community could have access to the Irish language for free.

Details

For one-to-one sessions, I typically charge $25 per hour. For group sessions, I charge $30 an hour up to 10 people.
