About Chris

Do you hate going for a golf lesson and have the Golf Professional change everything about your swing and game only to leave you more confused and frustrated? Every student has unique nuances that should be built upon instead of torn down. It is important to use those talents and abilities to help students perform their best. Come and learn how to get the most out of your game in a relaxed, yet educational environment.

Chris Dillow is a Class A PGA Golf Professional and Head Golf Professional at Williamsburg National Golf Club. He has a huge array of students ranging from beginner men and women, junior golfers, aspiring college golfers, and single digit handicappers.

His qualifications are not limited to managing golf operations at a golf club. He also competes professionally and has competed on the PGA Tour and various other satelite professional tours. He is a past Division I Collegiate Golfer at Radford University and a past VHSL High School State Champion. He also has a degree in Psychology and a Minor in Sport Management: Coaching.

You can follow Chris Dillow on Twitter at @ChrisDillowGolf.

Chris got started teaching once he got into management of golf operations. His passion for playing and an endless pursuit of understanding the golf swing to better equip himself during competition helped to fuel his passion to instruct others. Chris desires for each student to navigate the adventures of golf in an effort to build the same passion he has for the game.

Class A PGA Golf Professional; Competed on the PGA Tour, various satelite professional golf tours, and Division I Collegiate golf; taught individual private lessons, clinics, and private group lessons; 10 years of instructional experience

About the lesson

Each student is interviewed prior to the start of the lesson to gain a better understanding of their learning style, preferences, golf and/or athletic background, and physical limitations if any exists. This information is helpful in orchestrating the rest of the lesson in addition to helping establish goals for the lesson based on the student's ambition.

Chris instructs a wide range of golfers from men, women, and juniors of all ages and abilities. He teaches beginners, weekend players, single digit handicappers, and those who are physically challenged.

What are your expectations? If the golf professional does a sufficient interview before the lesson begins then he/she should be able to meet your expectations so that you can get the most out of your instruction time.

Nothing is more joyful than helping students to accomplish their golfing goals, regardless of how simplistic they are. From helping a beginner get the ball airborne to having a student win a competition, it all is very rewarding.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is a lesson worth to you (both time and money)?

What are some of your goals for the lesson?

What are your expectations from the golf professional?

Do you want instruction time only on the range, or would you prefer time on the golf course?

Will your instructor have access to the golf course to be able to instruct you there?

How long is the lesson and what will be covered?

What does the golf professional expect of the student?
