About Zachary

I am a certified PGA golf instructor and a member of the PGA of America North Florida section. I teach based on "feel" using minimal swing aids with maximum results. I try to raise my students' golf swing IQ so that they understand swing changes more and more each lesson. I left a Head Professional position at a very respected private club in Orlando, FL to pursue my actual profession and passion, teaching.

I began volunteering at my local golf course in the junior camps when I was 14 learning a lot about the golf swing and the process of teaching individuals in a group as well as seperately. That sparked my interested and sent to me to go study it in college.

My degree from Florida State University is a Business degree in Professional Golf Management. Out of this schooling, I was able to obtain a membership with the PGA of America as a certified Golf Professional.

About the lesson

The first step I take with a new student is figuring out their goals. Some students have very short term "quick fix" goals, while others have the more ambitious long term goals. I have plans to taylor to both. The next step is establishing a relationship and analyzing the golf swing. That is when true instruction will take place.

I have worked with hundreds of juniors in groups as well as privately. I have also worked with teenagers, all the way up to 80 year old men and women. Within these ages includes an equally large range of skill levels from small tour professionals to individuals that have never held a golf club.

I am a strong believer that finding a teacher that you are comfortable around is more important than finding the closest teacher to you. If you are comfortable around them, you won't be intimidated and you will voice any concerns you have when trying to understand new swing moves.

I recently caddied for one of my 7-year-old junior students in a US Kids golf tournament and he was able to set goals at the beginning of the tournament and reach them at the end.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The biggest question is why am I getting lessons? What is my end goal? It may be big, it may be small, but you should always have one.
