About Martha

Learn the language of music. I can quickly teach you the underlying structures of music - music theory - in a fun, fast, and functional way. I also teach: piano (beginner - advanced), guitar (intermediate), mandolin (beginners), electric bass (beginners), songwriting, and composition. I especially love to write songs from the Book of Psalms. I can also guide a group of students with no prior musical knowledge to become an instant band. No worries! I bring all the musical instruments! For our Covid-19 times: Zoom Lessons available!

"Teacher" is just something I do in a lot of different ways. Here's a FREE course I developed with an online learning program - "Music Theory: Fun, Fast & Functional." Let me know what you think of it too!

Martha is excellent at making music fun and accessible to kids, even reluctant learners. She builds relationships, encourages frequently, and teaches contemporary worship songs that my kids enjoy playing. My older children have been motivated to practice without needing reminders from me.

I love music "lessons" from Martha! I really can't call it lessons because I always had so much fun learning from you! For MANY MANY years I tried to play music, but you as a teacher, didn't just teach, you take the time to understand HOW I learned, and applied teaching to my learning. YOU ARE AN EXCELLENT TEACHER!
