About Eli

I'm a multi-instrumentalist and composer with over 24 years experience on the piano, guitar and bass guitar!

Students stick around with me because I stay tuned into everyone's unique musical interests. No two people will understand music in the same way, so I keep my lessons open and flexible to encompass what the student is most interested in learning.

There's not much better than just hanging out and talking about music. Music is pure truth, and when you get into passing on information about it, it can be inspiring, healing and eye-opening all at the same time! Eureka moments are what we go for in every lesson.

24 years experience on the piano, 14 years on the guitar and bass through self-study, with private instructors, and with college professors.

Extensive performance experience in jazz combos and bands across Pennsylvania, Ohio and Colorado.

4 years experience teaching students ages 5-70.

About the lesson

The first meeting is all about getting to know the student and understanding where they want to go with music. I usually follow these general ideas during our first lesson:

An assessment of your musical background and skill level

A discussion about your musical dream or end goal (it's okay if you don't have one yet)

Creating a roadmap to achieving your goals

A short list of milestones to begin working toward

Music tips that will improve your playing and songwriting immediately!

I have worked with students of all ages and all walks of life. I've taken on intermediate students seeking higher knowledge in jazz and music theory, and I've worked with children and adults picking up their instrument for the first time. At this time, I specialize in adults and young adults.

Congratulations for deciding to invest in your musical development! I'm sure you will find that through taking music lessons, you will grow as a human being as well as a musician.

My best advice to you would be to get yourself a notebook or small calendar, and record the amount that you practice each day. The only goal is to get at least 10 seconds per day, every day. Not 10 minutes, 10 seconds. As long as you're making contact with your instrument every single day, you will reach your goals as a musician, guaranteed.
