I recommend Guitar Lessons Ithaca becuase you can learn to play music a lot quicker than elsewhere. The format doesn't make you focus on doing boring scales over and over. Now I have a few tab songs that I can play, and chords that I can switch between, and it's a lot more enjoyable than the more traditional way to learn.

Dennis is a professional guitar player as well as a great teacher. It is not just because he's good at playing the guitar in any type of music (jazz, blues, rock, pop, etc...) but also he is experienced in teaching and he keeps thinking about how to make his lesson better. I could learn new things in each lesson and he always knew how to help me step forward. I was so lucky to find an awesome guitar teacher like him in Ithaca.

My knowledge of guitar theory has expanded dramatically in the short time I’ve worked with Dennis. Dennis is a great teacher and I would highly recommend anyone to give Guitar Lessons Ithaca a chance if you are exploring guitar lessons. The best thing I can say about Dennis that sums up my experience with him is that he is not just a great guitar player who gives lessons. He is very committed to being a great guitar teacher and spends a lot of time outside lessons to continually increase his teaching skills and it is obvious when you work with him.

I have been taking lessons from Dennis for 2 months after about 3 months of trying to learn on my own. Dennis does a great job of guiding you through learning guitar based on what your goals are. This really helps you stay motivated to practice and be fully committed to learning. I have easily made twice as much progress in 2 months of lessons than I did in 3 months on my own.

Dennis is also extremely knowledgeable about music and not just technique, I ask a lot of questions and am naturally very curious. He is always able to answer my questions with an explanation that is at my level. Even in more music theory related topics where I came in with no knowledge he is able to explain things in a way that I can understand.

I've always wanted to play the guitar, yet as an older beginner it seemed daunting. In only a short time of taking lessons with Dennis, I was playing music that my family actually enjoyed!
