I have been teaching guitar for over30 years

I have preformed with numerous bands and musicians on a professional level.

I understand sometimes we have emergencies arise and those are taken into consideration on a case by case basis.

I studied music in high school, I also went to Oakland community college and studied classical guitar from there I went to Wayne State and studied both jazz and performing arts I have played with numerous bands, I had national AirPlayAnd have taught guitar banjo mandolin bass for over 30 years.

About the lesson

I asked the student watch their main objective is some students want to learn every aspect of playing, others just want to be able to play chords and sing along. Some have a dream of being a professional musician they listen to a guitar player on the radio or CD or YouTube video and I think that's going to be Me. Sometimes you have to explain the work involved for a person to meet their objective it's not just about being able to play the instrument, but the work involved after learning to play. Some people have a desire to play in church with their church group they need to know chords quickly,So they can begin playing so as you can see there are many different ways of working with a new student the student should not have to adapt to the teacher the teacher should adapt to the students desire.

I have worked with students literally from the age of 8 to 80 I have worked with individuals who have hat learning challenges I have worked with individuals who have suffered strokes and we're trying to regain their ability to play as you can see I have covered at all in the time IHave taught I enjoy what I do greatly. I cannot think of anything that is more rewarding.

When searching for a teacher, ask them what their teaching process is. Some teachers are very rigid in the way they teach not all of us learn through the same method. With that being said the teacher must learn or understand how to teach each individual, some people are auditory, some people are visual, some people need a very structured format. Each person has a different way of learning understanding dress helps greatly as a Music teacher It helps you to understand the needs and desires of every single student.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is your background, what do you charge for lessons, what comes with your lessons i.e. do I need to buy books lesson materials and such or are those provided as part of the lesson. What kind of notice is needed to cancel the lesson. And lastly but most importantly do they treat you with respect when they talk to you, if not walk the other way.

My Lessons are typically $18 per half hour.

occasionally I will give discounts of $15 per half hour when I teach if we get into a groove and the student has time we may go over that half hour time limit if we do there is no extra charge I do require 24 hours notice for a canceled lesson. I understand sometimes we have emergencies arise and those are taken into consideration on a case by case basis.
