About Joseph

"Tone Tailors, a musical instrument shop that opened in March 2015 in downtown Lancaster, has moved to a larger space in Warwick Township.

Tone Tailors has taken a 4,000-square-foot space in Pod 2, a 250,000-square-foot building on the Rock Lititz campus that houses numerous live-event businesses.

Pod 2 is near Rock Lititz Studio, which hosts production rehearsals for lighting, audio, stage and other crews serving bands soon going on tour.

In the new space, Tone Tailors will continue to feature a variety of guitars and accessories. It also will offer instrument and voice lessons.

Tone Tailors is owned by Chad Taylor, John LeClair and Jon Paul “JP” Painton. Taylor is a guitarist with the rock band Live.

Bob Bradshaw, of Custom Audio Electronics, also will have space in the new Tone Tailors. Bradshaw is a guitar maker who previously operated his business in Los Angeles."

From guitar lessons at a young age, all the way through marching band in highschool, I lucked out with amazing and influential instruction, and I always wanted to emulate that feeling of having a breakthrough and learning something you couldnt do before.

For guitar/bass, I was formally taught for 5 years when I was younger, but most of what I learned was picked up from playing and recording in various musical projects. I spent a lot of time touring the United States playing music in different bands, so I knew what the demand was musically to stand out nationally.

For drums, a alot of my education comes from being recruited into marching band when I was in highschool. I was taught by a lot of well respected drummers in the activity and I like to carry over a lot of stuff they taught me to my students. I also played drumset in a lot of projects and have done some touring on drum kit as well.

About the lesson

The first lesson I always like to learn as much about the a student as possible. We will discuss things like:

-Experience Level (where you are now)

-Goals and aspirations (where you want to be)

-Music preference

-Learning preference (learning to read music vs tabs)

-Scheduling (will there be a routine time or will it be random, I am fine with either)

I have worked with single students, to entire highschool drumlines. I can teach anyone, or any amount, of people.

One of the bands I perform with played a really fun show. A lot of people showed up! I felt like I got to see almost all of my close family and friends. It was like a highschool reunion, but better! There is no better feeling than rocking out and playing live music with your lifelong friends!
